01 · The fitting exam
Why a contact lens exam is its own exam.
A contact lens is a medical device resting on living tissue. Fitting one starts where a glasses exam ends: our optometrists in Los Angeles measure corneal curvature and diameter, assess the tear film the lens has to float on, convert the power for the eye’s surface, then evaluate the actual lens on your actual eye at the slit lamp for centration, movement and coverage before any prescription is finalized.
The result is a lens that disappears: stable vision, no awareness of the edge, and comfort at hour twelve as well as hour one.

03 · Daily disposables
Daily disposable contact lenses — a fresh lens every morning.
Dailies have become our default recommendation. A sterile lens every day means no cases, solutions or protein buildup, and that is why dailies carry the lowest infection and dryness rates of any soft lens. Modern materials carry water gradients and breathable silicone hydrogels that stay comfortable through a full workday.

04 · Toric lenses for astigmatism
Toric contact lenses: astigmatism is no reason to give up.
A toric lens carries different powers across different meridians, so it has to sit at exactly the right angle. Modern stabilization designs re-orient within a blink or two and hold the axis through the day. If you were told years ago that your astigmatism was “too much for contacts,” the answer has very likely changed: soft torics now reach high cylinders, and custom lenses go further.

05 · Multifocal & presbyopia
Multifocal contact lenses: reading glasses, retired.
Multifocal contacts layer near and distance power in concentric zones and let the visual system pick the image it needs, so you can see menus, dashboards and phones without reaching for readers. Success depends on the fitting: pupil size, dominant eye, add power and real-world habits all shape the design. Monovision remains a worthy alternative for some, and we’ll tell you honestly which you are.

06 · Beyond soft lenses
When soft lenses can’t do the job, we’re the office that can.
Some eyes need more than a soft lens: those with keratoconus, high or irregular astigmatism, post-LASIK corneas or severe dry eye. We design free-form scleral lenses from an Eaglet Eye Surface Profiler map of your eye, plus rigid gas-permeable and hybrid designs, and Ortho-K lenses that correct vision while you sleep. Patients fly in for these fits; for you it’s ten feet down the hall.
07 · When contacts stop being comfortable
Dryness at 4 p.m. is a solvable problem.
Most “I can’t wear contacts anymore” stories are really dry eye stories: the tear film under the lens runs out before the day does. Instead of just swapping the lens, we treat the surface with meibography-guided dry eye care, then re-fit into a material that suits your chemistry. Wearers who’d given up are routinely back in lenses.
