Optometrist & Eye Doctor in Santa Monica

Right on the Santa Monica border.

Our office sits in West Los Angeles right on the border of Santa Monica — for most of the city, we are the closest multi-specialty optometry practice on Wilshire.

Santa Monica — a streetscape or landmark photo

01Why patients come

Comprehensive care first — three specialties on top.

Santa Monica patients come for the dry eye program — IPL, Optilift and meibography — and stay for comprehensive care with the same three Los Angeles eye doctors every visit.

Comprehensive eye examsExams, glasses and contact lenses for children, adults and every decade after, with all three doctors.
Keratoconus & scleral lensesCustom scleral lenses fit with the Eaglet Eye Surface Profiler by Dr. Brandon Cohenmehr. Patients travel across LA for this care.
The dry eye centerMeibography-guided IPL, OptiLIFT (DMST + radiofrequency), punctal plugs and prescription therapy, led by Dr. Bijan Cohenmehr.
Medical eye care & urgent visitsGlaucoma and diabetic exams with Dr. Kevin Cohenmehr, and same-day appointments for eye emergencies.

02From the Pier, up Wilshire

Ocean air is the dry eye capital of LA.

  • One road. Ocean Ave to Wilshire, then straight east to Bundy on surface streets.
  • Wind + sun = evaporation. Beach-city eyes burn and water by evening; meibography finds out why, IPL and OptiLIFT treat it.
  • Park once. Exam, imaging and the optical in the same hour, with free parking on Wellesley, right off Wilshire.

06Questions

Coming from Santa Monica.

  • Much. The office sits in a quieter stretch of Wilshire near Bundy, and parking is free on Wellesley Ave: driving west on Wilshire, turn left onto Wellesley and the entrance is right at the turn. Skip the Promenade structures entirely.

  • Very close — the office is on Wilshire just east of Centinela, right at the Santa Monica border. Most of Santa Monica reaches us in one straight run east on Wilshire.

  • Yes. Urgent eye care is always welcome, with same-day appointments available — call 310-828-2010.

  • We can often use medical insurance in lieu of vision insurance for exams if you did not pay for vision benefits, and we are in network with common vision plans including VSP and EyeMed. Call 310-828-2010 to verify your plan.
